Review| Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Title: Everything, Everything

Author: Nicola Yoon

Published: September 1st, 2015

Synopsis

“My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.”

Discussion

Who was my favourite character and why?

My favourite character was Ollie simply because he was an interesting character with a somewhat dark backstory. I found that despite the tragic things that were going on in Ollie’s life, he was always capable of being friendly and supportive towards people that needed it. He was also a humorous guy which I liked as well!

Were the characters relatable and/or believable?

Definitely! I enjoyed the chemistry between character’s and could definitely invest myself fully into the story because it was well written and fast paced.

Did the story keep you on the edge of your seat?

Absolutely! This novel had so many ups and downs, and character’s falling out with each other that I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next!

Something I would change about the novel?

I enjoyed this novel, and would not change a thing. I cannot wait for Nicola Yoon’s next novel to be release!

Review:

Overall, I would give this novel  4.5 out of 5 tea mugs.
